PV2 goes live today

Results not quite caught up to date yet, but almost all there, today we present PatientView 2.  At the time of posting the new version isn't visible everywhere, but it should in the next few hours.
Note: up to date results are catching up, hope they'll be nearly complete at some point tomorrow.

Further information and some How-to videos at www.rixg.org/rpv, or our our YouTube channel.  (More videos to follow, but could you make some?)

There's a new Guide for Unit Admins and another place for news - good for all, but with a slight staff leaning as this site is often blocked by NHS IT.

What's different?  Why?  See More about PV2

Hopefully this posts this time......3rd time in trying! I much preferred the old system where I could view all test results on the 1 page unlike the new system. Dissapointed I still cant view my results from Tue. Having recently received a transplant I like to see how my creatinine levels are

PV2 looks good on my mobile devices, well done to all concerned

Alison:

On the Results "Dashboard" there's a button which says "Table View".

If you click that you should see something similar - and hopefully better than the PV1 view.

I can log in and now can do nothing else! I can't see results, letters etc - nothing

I agree with Allison I liked seeing all the results in one table. I know selected results can be seen on a table you are able to edit it' s a bit of a faff!

In addition results are missing they are many and numerous, results that were showing Tuesday morning had disappeared by the evening. Even results that were taken Monday 19/1 have vanished! Not really impressed the old rpv should have been left running in tandem for a few weeks..

Thank goodness none of my money was involved!

If anyone in the know reads this my unit is BRISTOL SOUTHMEAD

I believe in saying if it's not broken don't fix it. NHS wasted money on this new look, it lacks professional appearance like the old one, you can't look at your results in public, like on the bus, numbers are huge, everybody can see it. I don't like it, old view was much better and nicer for the eye.

In table view it shows only 4 results, doesn't store login details, you must enter it every time. I used my android phone for the past 2 years and had no problems with the old Patient View, I don't like the new one, makes it difficult to read the results, bring the old one back or make it look similar to previous one, this one is just awful!

Unknown said...

I cannot agree with Margaret's comment. I have Nexus 5 and 7 and logins are saved and in table view you can customize what results are most important to you. I found the old PV very hard to use on mobile devices

I am really upset. My consultant ordered a repeat blood test because my last one had deteriorated so quickly, and I can't get the results yet.

This new system is deeply flawed already, and is causing patients unnecessary stress.

Can anyone tell me how long blood tests taken during the last week are taking to show. I am really getting wound up about this.

Margaret said...

I'm waiting since Wednesday to see the results, sent them 3 emails asking to update the results, still nothing, it's ruined my weekend already.

Margaret said...

I tried and it doesn't save my login details on my Samsung S 4. It's impossible to compare the results like before,to me they are all important.

With every respect to those who feel differently, I personally think the new PatientView is a really positive step forwards. To my eyes, it has a crisp, clean, more modern look, works well on my tablet now and has some useful new functionality such as the graphs for results and the new table view which allows me to select the columns I'm interested in and suppress the things I'm less interested in (instead of the slightly odd groupings across six pages on the old system, e.g. sodium and potassium on separate pages).

My results weren't all present in the first few days, but it looks like it's caught up now. Hoping that adding some more test types (particularly making Vit D and magnesium work in Oxford) is next on the hit list! :-)

Thanks for the hard work all.

I totally disagree with Andrew Bailey. If the results are not showing it doesn't matter how good the presentation/clarity is. And he is wrong. They haven't caught up yet. My results from last week are still not showing. Like Margaret it has ruined my weekend and is causing me a lot of stress. I thought these people were supposed to care about our wellbeing. They obviously don't!

MISSING RESULTS
The notification on your homepage, dated 19/1/2015 suggests it “may take a day or two” to catch up.

For your information, I have 2 x blood tests on the 12th and 19th January. Neither of these results are showing as at 25/1/2015. However, the results from the 12th January _were_ showing under the old Patient View system.

Can you give any outlook when the new Patient View system will be up to date?

PRESENTATION OF RESULTS
I ike the new Tabular View. It is useful to be able to select which columns to view in the layout. However, despite carefully selecting which items to display and in which order, the layout is not retained. In other words, I can select specific columns but these may or may not appear when the RESULTS page is viewed at a later time. The order of the columns presented is also random. This is _very_ frustrating!

Personally, I preferred the old tabular layout because it showed _all_ results. This is now impossible because there is a limit on the number of columns that can be selected.

May I make a suggestion? Why not make the test results downloadable, (e.g. in .CSV format) so that the individual can save and format their own results how they want. (This also provides added flexibility for those occasions when the website cannot be accessed, for whatever reasons.)

I do hope you find these comments helpful.

Hello Tommo. My apologies, I should have been a little clearer. When I said "it looks like it's caught up now", I meant "it looks like it's caught up now for me": obviously I don't know whether results are working for other people and if they're not then that is definitely more important than the presentation. Hopefully these are just teething issues as the new system is adopted and I hope they will be sorted out for you soon. :-)

Well, Andrew Bailey, I now understand what you meant, but the rest of us seem to be looking at the wider picture. The news info on the Patientview site said they had over 100,000 results to process. So??????? That is not the problem of the patient. That is the problem of them not making sure the new system works first before shutting the old system down. I agree with other people; they should have been run in tandem.

This morning they are saying "Most records are now up to date, but we are aware of one or two exceptions, we'll check why and correct."

Well, mine are not up to date, and I bet I am far from alone. One or two seems like a total mis-estimation.

I wish I knew who I could contact who could ut mine right, but apart from my own hospital there seems to be no-one on Patient View who is prepared to take a direct message!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

To whom it may concern.

My results are still not showing despite your assurances that most are up to date.

WHO CAN I CONTACT DIRECTLY AT PATIENT VIEW???

Anonymous said...

A week now, and still not up to date. What a fiasco!!!!!!!!!!

After logging in, and clicking on Results, nothing happens at all. The old version was reliable, clear and prompt. I agree with previous comments, why was this new version launched with so many glitches, what was the hurry.

turtlejennifer said...

There are contact details for senior PatientView people if you click on the Admin section Tommo Lynch, I have already emailed the lead person

Turtlejennifer, I can't find the admin section. Where is it please?

Seems like i am not the only one whos not impressed with this new version, usually when i have had bloods done at the gps,it always showed on patient view the next day early in the morning, always!
Also my gp info was wrong, apparently,i now live at the other end of the country in kent! Contacted the admin about it and also asked why results wer nt there,no reply about that but gps info was corrected.
i don t know why they had to change from the old version,i never had problem with it on my mobile,i am very anxious about the results and needcto see them.

turtlejennifer said...

Tommo Go to the home page About Patient View. On the left of the page is a menu, click on Contact and you will see email addresses and tel nos.

Anonymous said...

Thankyou turtlejennifer. I didn't realise there was a separate "About Patient View" site. I have sent an email to both the names persons. I will report back on here if I get a reply. In the meantime, may I suggest to anyone else who is as concerned that they email too? The more that do, the more impact there might be.

turtlejennifer said...

Email the NHS guy everyone, I did so this morning and he already emailed back saying he will look into my record and try to sort out the problem. Impressed!

Anonymous said...

Turtlejennifer, he is doing the same for me too. I got an email from him a few minutes ago. Thankyou so much for pointing me in the right direction.

turtlejennifer said...

Just to let everyone know, the problem I was having not being able to see any results etc was because I was using an ipad Safari browser. The NHS guy Keith Simpson suggested trying a different browser and lo and behold Internet Explorer on a PC worked fine and the results appeared. But you would think they would have tested this from an ipad if they are trying to optimise for mobile applications!

Anonymous said...

Very pleased for you turtlejennifer. Unfortunately that can't be my problem as I am using my desktop.

turtlejennifer said...

Tommo hope Keith Simpson will be able to help you. In meantime can you phone your Unit for the latest results.

I am having the same issues no results from this month, plus cannot get it to work on Iphone or Ipad, whereas both were fine with PV.
Especially after todays news that Apple are taking over the world why issue something desigend for a beyyer expereince on mobile that wont work on the mobile/tablets proprietary systems, I for one do not want to use IE.
Perhaps they would have better employed developing an App for Apple /Android

Well a big task uploading all the history but looks good to me so far. Just one little tweet to think about for the future when the storm has passed, is it possible to put an up/down marker on the front page of the results so that we get a clear indication of any changes without opening up each result. Thanks for your hard work, hope you win soon.

Hi, first log on since the change, I must say it looks nicer BUT it is a pain to check all the results, taking literally ages to load and unload columns because there isn't enough space to load everything I want to look at.

At least with PV1 everything was reachable quickly.

Why have you made it that the blood pressure measurements get turned around on view results page? I enter systolic over diastolic, then look at results page, and lo and behold, they've been turned back to front and shows diastolic figure first and then systolic. Madness, to me but what do I know!!! Are you likely to turn this around. Personally, I find it disconcerting.

Anonymous said...

Re: Diastolic / Systolic

Are you talking about the Table View of results?

If so could you try removing both of those columns please then re-adding them in the correct order. It should then remember this the next time you go to the screen.

i am able to get PV and see results etc on my Iphone.
Can log onto PV2 with another Iphone but cannot get results.
The Home and Results buttons light up together, when pressing Result button??
Both Iphones are set up in an idntical manner, cannot understand why one works and other does not.
are you still working on these problems?

I can access PV2, get results etc on my laptop and Iphone.

My wife can access PV2 and get results etc on her Ipad but can only log on with her Iphone and is unable to access results, stuck on home page.
